Tekken The Movie

Recently, we have seen the Tekken movie just out of the fandom brought by the videogame. I am not a pro Tekken player (not even good). I finished the story mode not because I have the skills but because the game difficulty was set to medium. Lol.

Back to the movie, I honestly don’t have a good background as with Tekken’s story but I need not to. I can already see something wrong without it.

  • Heihachi is a good man in this movie. He is the final boss (final evil boss) of some Tekken games that is why this really doesn’t fit.
  • Kazuya is the bad guy here. Again it should be Heihachi not Kazuya.
  • Jon Foo is a good candidate to play Jin Kazama (for me) but not that good enough. He may have the looks but not the built as Jin. I know this is over acting, but hey think of it as Taylor Lautner who did a metamorphosis so that he will not be kicked out of the Twilight movies.
  • Christie Monteiro don’t know Capoeira. Period.

  • The sister rivals (serious sibling rivalry), Anna and Nina Williams are a team and both prostitutes (lol) of Kazuya.
  • Even while watching the movie for some time, you won’t realize easily that Jin’s manager is really Steve Fox. By researching about this, I recently found out that Steve is actually Nina’s son (in the movie they have no relation at all and Steve is way older than Nina).
  • The videogame depicts Bryan Fury as a really bad and tough guy. The movie Bryan looks not. This goes as well for Sergei Dragunov who originally looks like a zombie soldier and Miguel Caballero Rojo who doesn’t have any resemblance at all.
  • The movie’s Marshall Law, whom was based from the kung-fu legend Bruce Lee, is… (check the movie or google about how he looks, I can’t comment on this. Nothing against the actor but a lot against the casting)
  • Good job for the casting crew and costumes for Yoshimitsu, Raven and Eddy (who can do Capoeira).

Overall, Tekken is a fair movie. But by bending the story, it sucks big time. If you are a fan of Dragonball Z and watched Dragonball Evolution, you’ll feel the same about the movie. The production and casting should go to Comic cons and Cosplay conventions, where there are people who do better job of portraying their Tekken idols.

  3. Dragonball evolution was crap, I know. haha

And growing up from the PS One revolution, I was a fan of Tekken. And this movie was juts a justification of all the 3D shit, yeah?

    • kung tutuusin mas ok din yung street fighter the movie kumpara dito para kasing matipid in terms of production yung tekken movie

pero ang ok talaga e yung street fighter movie na chinese (i just assume that it’s chinese by the looks) kung saan lumilipad yung mga character at humahaba yung kamay ni dhalsim hehehe.

Hehehe. At least dun sa American version, may pagka realistic pa fight scenes. . .

sana may hadouken o kahit shoryu reppa hehe.

      just me.
